Tucked in the woods at the foot of Sugarloaf
Mountain, this cozy and
convenient ski house is available for weekend and week-long rentals this
winter. It is located part way up the Sugarloaf Access Road in Sugarloaf
Village II. Although it is about 1/3 of a mile below the lowest lift,
it is
on the free, continuously-running mountain shuttle bus route. The house
has
three bedrooms and sleeps eight comfortably. It has two full baths. The
main living level is on the second floor, with a glass-fronted wood
stove
for atmosphere. There are windows across the front that let in the
morning
sunshine. It is rustic rather than fancy, with a little of the feel of
an
old Maine camp. In addition to being near the lifts, you can walk or
ski to
Sugarloaf's network of cross country trails.
Rates range from $550 (January) to $750 (holiday weekends) for a
three-night minimum stay, with additional nights at the rate of $125 to
$160. The weekly rate is $750 in January, $1200 in February and $1500
for
the February vacation week (2/18-2/26). Although Christmas/New Years is
booked, the February vacation week and Sugarloaf's famed Reggae weekend
(April 7 - 9) are still available. December weekends are only $400!
