The Stone Porch B&B is a hundred year old house in New Paltz, NY about 1.5 hours from NYC and 1 hour from Albany. New Paltz is the home of the famous Mohonk Mountain House and Mohonk Preserve a huge nature preserve for hiking, cross country skiing, mountain climbing , biking and walking. The quaint downtown is filled with small shops of handcrafted items and restaurants with many cultures of cuisine from American to the Far East. In town, there are walking trails for biking and walking, coffee houses, a new library, a beautiful park for children and the college, SUNY New Paltz. New Paltz is a cultural haven, with an abundance of plays, musicals, theatres and the entire Hudson Valley and its many towns are close enough to take advantage of the arts, music, dance and festivals that are available every weekend.
 
Stone Porch B&B is a few minutes from Exit 18 off the thruway and 5-7 minute drive to town and the mountains for hiking, biking or shopping. There are apple orchards within walking distance and many near by for apple and pumpkin picking, bike trails, shopping centers within 30 minutes and a diner 2 miles away. We are a pet friendly household and there is a cat and dog here. We welcome well behaved dogs. We are  a non smoking guesthouse.
The front porch is an enjoyable, sunny, private and nature filled place for morning coffee, weather permitting. Many animals are easily seen, deer, chipmunks rabbits, blue heron, blue jays and cardinals for nature lovers.
 
The owner, Barbara is a Real Estate Broker for anyone wanting to explore investment properties and relocated to the Hudson Valley in 1993. Barbara can tell you anything you need to know about the area to make your stay enjoyable and personal. Breakfast can be some of the following: quiche and potatoes, fresh fruit, pancakes, croissants, hot or cold cereals and Barbara can accommodate any special diet requests.

Our rental property is located approximately 7 miles
east of Cooperstown and 11 miles from Dreams Park in
the town of Middlefield, New York.  The gray
ranch-style house, situated on 5 open acres in a rural
farming community, is a short ride to the Cooperstown
area’s sightseeing attractions.  You will find the
home comfortable lodging for 6 - 8 people.  The
kitchen is fully equipped with electric appliances,
microwave, dinnerware, glasses, pots and pans, eating
and cooking utensils and automatic coffeepot.  French
doors open to a large wood deck, where you can enjoy a
beautiful view of the countryside, or barbecue on the
outdoor gas grill.  The front bedroom has a Queen size
bed while the back bedroom is furnished with 2 sets of
bunk beds.  The living room includes a full-size pull
out sleep sofa, television (limited reception), VCR,
stereo and telephone (local and phone card or calling
card only). We furnish bed linens and towels. The
sheets and towels are to be cleaned and put back at
the end of your stay. There is no maid service. You
are responsible for cleaning and laundry. There is a
washer and dryer in the basement for your use. Window
air conditioners in all rooms.

Property is offered on a first come, first served
basis.  The cost is $750 per week (Friday to Friday).
A deposit of $350 is required to secure your
reservation.  All checks (payable to Herbert
Griffiths) are to be mailed to my home address in
Connecticut.  The balance of $400 is due 3 weeks
before the start of your rental week.

The physical handling of the house is done by my
lifelong friend, a general contractor by profession.
He resides within 5 miles of the rental property.  I
welcome any questions. Pictures of the house upon
request.
